Annie’s Nannies February Nanny of the Month

Genessa CAttention, nanny community! We are tickled pink to announce our February Nanny of the Month, Genessa Cielo! Genessa is currently placed with an ANI family and does occasional On-Call work as well.

Her regular family had these kind words to say: “Genessa is a wonderful nanny.  All of Genessa’s actions with our child are done with love, patience, and understanding. She is conscientious, trustworthy, and responsible.  Our daughter looks forward to her arrival each day.”

Our On-Call families don’t hesitate to share her praises either! One family commented, “Genessa has worked out really well. She is very competent, knowledgeable (how to handle a 3 year old and expectations for a 3 year old), confident, and outgoing. [Our son] has really taken to her.”

Nannies, Families and Lice!

Lice have been plaguing human kind since the dawn of civilization.  This unfortunate fact still exists today and can affect any family, any time. We recently heard from a nanny that was drawn into the battle on behalf of her family. She turned to us for some advice, and we decided to put a bunch of resources together in one place!

For a funny movie view, check out Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Kate in the movie I Don’t Know How She Does It:

Annie’s Nannies–January 2014 Nanny of the Month!

Julie Hales2This month’s winner is a graduate of Northwest Nanny Institute, has 10 years of Nanny experience, and is also an accomplished vocalist! Congratulations to Julie Hales on being chosen this month!  Julie was placed in a long-term job in 2013 with an ANI family.  The family recently had this to say about Julie:

“In her time with us, Julie has been incredibly dedicated to taking care of our daughter, Rose.  She approaches every day with a plan for activities and learning opportunities, whether it is reading together, singing songs, attending story time, making art, doing mat / tummy time etc.  Julie also keeps us updated on how the day went through a journal and pictures and it helps us feel connected even when we can’t be there.  Julie exudes positivity and just loves being around children – she connected instantly with our daughter and they have the most amazing time together.  I feel really secure and happy knowing that Rose is with her every day.    We feel so lucky to have her as our nanny and as a part of our family!  We don’t know what we would do without her!”

When asked about a funny thing a child has said to her recently, she responded, “Remy told me he want to take an airplane to preschool in France every day, because that is where his grandparents live!”

Congrats Julie! Thank you for all you do every day!

turn a chore into a game-maker, advanced puzzle putter-togetherer, board game losing skills developer, extraordinary Cinderella, award winning Tin Man, homework enthusiast and motivator, and lover of children of all ages. We placed Dolores this fall and her nanny family loves her.  Way to go Dolores!

When asked what her favorite holiday activity with children is, Dolores responded:

“My favorite holiday activity to do with children is to explore downtown Seattle. We take the Metro bus downtown and ride the carousel. When we’ve exhausted all the animals on the carousel, we take the monorail to Seattle Center and sit in the food court, eat our sack lunch and enjoy the entertainment. While we’re there, we also check out the giant model train display.  Seattle center is nicely decorated for the holidays and there’s so much to see, explore and discuss. When we’re finished exploring, we return home on the bus.”

Congrats again!

Annie’s Nannies October Nanny of the Month

DSC_0076 - Version 2Congratulations to Shannon Worthy for being chosen our October Nanny of the Month!!  We placed Shannon this fall in an infant nanny-share.  Her families noted that: “Her patience and intuitions about the best way to care for S have consistently been in-line with what we hoped for in a nanny, so I never worry about S when I am at work,” and “She is great with A and very easy to work with from our perspective. A always gives a big smile when she sees her first thing in the morning, which makes leaving that much easier for me!”

Shannon has been a nanny for over 13 years, and has had many long-term relationships with families.  She is what we call a baby expert, having worked with multiples and infants alike.

Annie’s Nannies: January Nanny of the Month

8089239798_c703b6ee97_mCongratulations to Lisa Eeckhoudt on being chosen Annie’s Nannies January Nanny of the Month!  Lisa has been a professional nanny/family assistant for over 10 years.  She has worked for her current family for almost 6 years, and they had this to say about her: “Lisa has been a loving, stimulating, and attentive caregiver for our three children.  She transitions seamlessly between her roles as caregiver, household manager, and administrative assistant while always maintaining her professionalism. Our respect for Lisa has only grown over the years — she is integral to our family and we love having her here with us!”

When asked about something funny a child recently told her Lisa had this to say: “Driving home from preschool, this was said “I think the windshield wipers are hurting the feelings of the raindrops”.”

Congratulations Lisa and thank you for all you do!!
