Banking Hours—Why it doesn’t pay off

We often hear complaints from nannies or families about banking hours.  Usually we hear from the nanny or family after the hours have been banked and the phone call is never a positive one.  Breedlove & Associates tackles this topic in their most recent Legal Review.

The Lawson family wanted to take an impromptu vacation after Mr. Lawson received a promotion. The family scrambled plans together and organized a five day reprieve from work and responsibility. The best part of the trip for Mr. and Mrs. Lawson would be the opportunity to take their first vacation with their two-year-old son who was usually supervised during the day by the family’s nanny. We’re excited to see you there on

Saturday July 19th!

“I completed my CPR class this weekend. The instructor was great! [...] Very passionate and thorough, and he advised us to “practice” or at least to go over it all in our heads until it’s IN THERE… Very good advice. I’m glad I went to that particular class and wanted to say, “Thanks for choosing such an awesome instructor.”” - Nanny Kimber

What a great CPR class! The teacher made a suggestion that I’ve never heard in my 20 years of taking CPR classes, PRACTICE! He was great!” - Nanny Nicole

Annie’s Nannies: May Nanny of the Month

ShannonPShannon Peters is our May Nanny of the Month! Shannon has been working with Annie’s Nannies for a little over nine years and is one of our most beloved On-Call nannies. Many families comment on her kindness and warmth, as well as the feeling of ease they feel whenever Shannon watches their children. One family commented the first time they had Shannon, “She was great. She was calm, let us know when she had questions, and managed our kids’ varied needs beautifully.”

When asked to recall a funny encounter with a child, Shannon remembered the following conversation with a young girl:

Girl: “When are you coming to play again?”

Shannon: “Maybe the next time your parents go out to dinner.”

Girl: “Ok, I will tell them to go to dinner tomorrow.”

We don’t know what we’d do without you, Shannon!

Annie’s Nannies April Nanny of the Month

IMG_9272Congratulations to Kristine Bragg, Annie’s Nannies April Nanny of the Month!  Kristine joined Annie’s Nannies temp team in February. Kristine Bragg is a nanny with varied experience and has a history of teaching and working with kids of all ages.  She earned her BS in Sport Science at WWU.  She enjoys the outdoors, hiking and photography. More recently Kristine spent a year in Argentina teaching English.

Recently Kristine had this funny interaction with a 6 year old girl: “This doll is Princess Aurora and this one is Prince Phillip.  It’s time for them to get married, but I can’t watch them kissing so you can do the ceremony while I close my eyes!”

Congrats to Kristine and thanks for all you do!!

Genessa CAttention, nanny community! We are tickled pink to announce our February Nanny of the Month, Genessa Cielo! Genessa is currently placed with an ANI family and does occasional On-Call work as well.

Her regular family had these kind words to say: “Genessa is a wonderful nanny.  All of Genessa’s actions with our child are done with love, patience, and understanding. She is conscientious, trustworthy, and responsible.  Our daughter looks forward to her arrival each day.”

Our On-Call families don’t hesitate to share her praises either! One family commented, “Genessa has worked out really well. She is very competent, knowledgeable (how to handle a 3 year old and expectations for a 3 year old), confident, and outgoing. [Our son] has really taken to her.”

Nannies, Families and Lice!

Lice have been plaguing human kind since the dawn of civilization.  This unfortunate fact still exists today and can affect any family, any time. We recently heard from a nanny that was drawn into the battle on behalf of her family. She turned to us for some advice, and we decided to put a bunch of resources together in one place!

For a funny movie view, check out Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Kate in the movie I Don’t Know How She Does It:
